Pearl Jam released the music video for "Retrograde," a track from their latest album, Gigaton .
The animated video features images of a psychic with a crystal ball who sees various natural disasters happening around the world. From New York to London, the clip shows fictional scenes amidst real images such as the fire that devastated Australia.
To complete the video's theme, Eddie Vedder invited a famous activist to participate: Greta Thunberg . The girl, who has gained fame in recent months, is revealed as the video's visionary, recalling her words about the path we are taking for our world.
Vedder has always been engaged in issues related to global warming and other problems that we, as human beings, cause to the planet. The band was one of the first to cancel their tour this year due to the coronavirus. Part of this stems from Eddie Vedder's sensitivity and the fact that Seattle, the band's hometown, was especially affected by the pandemic.
